I moved it to the table, and then I let it sit locked for a few hours. About the next day, it just shut down in the middle of what I was doing. However, I would suggest this product.

OK, in the beginning I was ready to argue against any negative reviews on here, but I’ve used this for a while now, and I’m perTURBED. The good points, well, it has three fans, and really does cool my laptop. My laptop is remarkably cool to the touch, even with metal plate around the keyboard and tending to run too hot.
But in addition to the silly blue lights that sometimes strobe behind the moving fan blades, this cooler is a product that works well only if it sits on a table and doesn’t move. I can’t tell you how many times of stuck my fingers into the moving fans from underneath! I want to use my laptop…in my lap. Well, I can’t with this cooler under it unless there’s something else under the cooler. I use the old cooler I had as a platform, and it’s a d e q u a t e, but I’m writing this minute because it buzzed my fingers just now, one time too many. It’s a decent idea that could be better. They need to screen in those blades.

This cool pad is ok…not great. It is not very sturdy so I put heavy tape over the open spaces between the ‘legs’. It can’t be seen so it’s not an eyesore. I just unplug the usb connection if the lights are a problem but I turn off my computer every night…always have. My old pad didn’t have any fans and it kept my computer cool just fine by elevating it. Unfortunately it is no longer available. This one is quiet and the fan makes very little sound. I wish the front legs were shorter. I liked my old pad that was almost flush with the desk in front. It’s more comfortable when typing. This at least keeps my computer cool and it was not expensive. However, I would try something different when this breaks.
